This carrier may not be the god of all carriers, but I sure do love it! For my first son I wasn’t really into the baby carrying thing. I ended up getting the Baby K’tan after I researched and read reviews on Amazon. I liked how it wasn’t a structured carrier and that you were able to do multiple positions. BUT, it was hard for me to always get it situated and I never felt like it was secure. That’s just me and my opinion, I did read some great reviews on it though.
So, I never did end up using a carrier with him. Fast forward with Mason and he is a bit needier than Ethan ever was and is a mama’s boy…Which means, he wants me to hold him ALL THE TIME! Who has time for that lol?! So I again looked into the baby carriers. I researched and researched and decided I really wanted the Beco Gemini. I liked how you could have your baby facing outward. I read that facing baby out a lot can be a little too much stimulation, but I believe that if you do it every once in awhile and not all the time, that it is totally fine. I also liked the Ergo, which I’m sure a lot of you have heard about. It is one of the most popular baby carriers and even a lot of celebrities use this one. My friend had one and I have to admit, it was sooooo comfy! BUT, the Ergo and Beco were a bit too spendy for me. I would have gone with it if it was my first kid, but with my second? And I wasn’t sure how much I would even use it or if the baby would even like it. So, I remember we were heading to the zoo that weekend and I really wanted to try one out.
I went to Target that day and looked in their baby carrier section. I was pretty impressed that they actually had a good selection. Anywhere from Chicco brand, the moby (which is also super popular) to the Ergo, and the Infantino. I did some research on the different models of each of these brands and by reading the reviews I didn’t want to have to deal with velcro on a baby carrier, because when the baby falls asleep you don’t want to wake him/her up when taking them out. I didn’t want to have to buy more attachments or accessories for newborns to when they get older, etc. I noticed that there was a few different models of the Infantino and that they were priced pretty reasonable. I was like, ok…they are pretty cheap, I’m sure they aren’t the greatest. I came across the Infantino Flip Advanced 4-in-1 carrier and took out the phone searched around at reviews at Target and Amazon and decided that this one would be best for my needs and it was $30. I could always try it around the house or at the zoo that weekend and go from there. I feel like it’s the “knock off” version of the Beco Gemini but I figured I would give it a try. I really enjoyed it and wore it quite a bit this last summer. Here are some photos of the carrier. 🙂
