Farmhouse Lovin’

Over the last year or so I have fallen in love with the show Fixer Upper and I have been wanting to transform our home into more of the farmhouse look.  We have a walkout rambler that could have a lot of charm, but it just was your basic house.  The house was built in 2000 and when we moved in we ripped out the carpet and added laminate hardwood floors in the living room and hallway and painted the whole house.  As the years went by we have ripped out the carpet in the bedrooms and got softer and nicer carpet, added tile in the entry way and bathroom, tore out the linoleum in the kitchen, dining room and laundry room and added the luxury vinyl squares and grouted in-between to look like tile.  Tore out our old vanities and added in a new one with a quartz countertop.  Within the last year we re finished our basement a second time to go more with the style this day and age. We added laminate flooring, re painted to more of the greige color, white trim, added a new big bedroom and closet that will eventually be our master bedroom, and updated the bathroom with a painted vanity and granite.  We also added some barnwood doors that the hubby did himself which I absolutely love! I have been in love with shiplap so we have changed our wall above the stairs, added a shiplap wall downstairs and just did our peninsula in our kitchen.  We couldn’t neglect the outside so we re did our landscaping to freshen it up and to gain some curb appeal.  And last but not least, we just finished painting our kitchen cabinets to brighten up our kitchen and then added some shiplap to our peninsula island.  It is all coming together and I couldn’t love it more! ♡
